For those who may be unable to watch the video, we started our online service with the hymn Be Still for the presence of the Lord
Prayer
We then joined in prayer ending our opening prayer with the Lords Prayer:
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors
lead us not into temptation,
and deliver us from evil,
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory,
forever.
AMEN
Our reading was from Psalm 40, verses 1 to 5
I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him. Our short sermon was on waiting and how we wait in life and how we all wait patiently for the Lord.
Our next hymn was New Scottish Hymns, version of Psalm 139, Were I to cross from land to land.
We then joined together to pray for others in the world not only those affected by Corona virus but for the wider world.
Lord God,
You know all the prayers of our hearts both those which are spoke and those which remain unspoken,
All of these prayers we offer in the name of your son Jesus Christ
AMEN
We then closed our worship with the blessing.
