‘Pause with Poppies: A Remembrance Display’
This year Remembrance Day is a double centenary: the 100th anniversary of the Armistice (the end of World War One), and a 100 years of the RAF. To mark this occasion St Marks Church is creating a display of poppies in our church garden. The display would be exhibited from the Friday 9th – Sunday 11th November to coincide with public Services of Remembrance.
This is your invitation to join in. We would like the community of Raploch to have the opportunity to share in creating this eye catching display. We are inviting the Local Schools (Castleview, Raploch, Our Lady’s and nursery), Raploch Community Partnership, Churches (Salvation Army, St Margaret’s), Front Line Workers, Sainsbury, McDonalds, and other community partners and businesses to get involved.
We will be holding ‘Pause with Poppies’ open sessions in the church where you can share a cuppa, view the remembrance display and ‘pause’ in quiet reflection.
The ‘Pause with Poppies’ open sessions will have materials and a craft space available to create your own poppies. You can also take part by making your poppies at home, school or work and dropping them into the church. More details bellow.
