Worship

Our Father in heaven,

 Hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come,

Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever.

Amen.

The 10.50 a.m. service in St Mark`s

is a mixture of Church of Scotland tradition and worship which seeks to connect with the issues and challenges of 21st century Scotland.

The opening section of worship is often participative. Any children and young people present are welcome to remain with us for worship as we have no formal Sunday School. There is space provided for younger children in our side chapel, with activities for 0 – 12 years, to which they can go with or without their parents at any time during the service.

St Marks

One of our team of readers reads the Bible, and the sermon invites us to explore how the Bible passage relates to life today. Our Prayers for others express our love and concern for those who are ill, those who are bereaved, and there is often space and silence for our own prayers and reflections. Occasionally, tea and coffee are served after this service. Always, we would encourage visitors to make themselves known to the minister or deaconess.

An INFORMAL PRAYER MEETING takes place before worship each Sunday in the Session Room at 10.40 a.m. Everyone is welcome to come along.
