This week we begin the Advent season, and over the next week we have a lot of different things going on here at St. Mark’s.

Sunday

Ark Roadshow and Sunday Morning Worship

On Sunday we will have the Ark Roadshow stopping off at our morning service, please join us at 10.30am for pancakes and a cuppa.

Annual Bereavement Service

On Sunday afternoon at 3pm we have our Annual Bereavement Service. If you or someone you know has lost a loved one, particularly in this past year, we invite you to come along. This is a relaxed, informal service of remembrance and reflection followed by a welcome cup of tea or coffee in the Small Hall.

Sunday Evening Service

There will be no Sunday evening services throughout December and January we will resume the Sunday evening service in February 2020.

Monday

Him Indoors, mens shed.

Calling all men! You are invited to join Him Indoors for a blether every Monday afternoon from 1 – 3 p.m. in the Side Aisle of the church. Drop in anytime. See Hugh or John for more information.

Tuesday

Scouts

The 1st Raploch Scouts meet in our halls with their Beavers meeting from 6pm to 7pm and Cubs meeting from 7.15pm to 8.15pm

Wednesday

Story ‘n’ a Piece

Story and a Piece will not meet in December and January. The group will resume in February.

Young @ Heart Ladies

Calling all Ladies! You are invited to join the Young @ Heart Ladies for their annual Christmas Lunch at the Campus Bistro this Wednesday at 1 p.m. Cost should be approx. £12. Teas and Coffees will be provided for you.

St. Mark’s @ Sainsbury’s

St. Mark’s @ Sainsbury’s Christmas Special. Please join us for some Christmassy fun, excitement and surprises. We meet as usual in the training room at 5.30pm

What is Christianity?

Our Wednesday bible study group, What is Christianity? will meet at 7.30pm come and join Barry for a informal discussion with a cuppa.

Thursday

Presbytery Communion Service

It is the tradition of our Presbytery to hold a service of Holy Communion in the church of the incoming Moderator in December. This year, that means St. Mark’s are hosting the Presbytery. The service begins at 6.30 p.m. and all are welcome to attend.

Our Deaconess Jean will be leading the service as Moderator and our minister Barry will be leading the Celebration of Holy Communion.

 We will be providing refreshments during a short break between the service and the Business Meeting. Volunteers are needed to welcome our visitors, serve teas and coffees and also to clear up after the teas. If anyone wishes to stay for the meeting of Presbytery, you are welcome to do so.

Friday

Christmas Carol Concert

We join our friends at St. Margaret’s for our joint Christmas Concert at 7.30pm. All three Drip Road Churches participate in this informal evening of Carols and readings. If you’re free, do come along. Everyone is Welcome.

Sunday 8th December

We celebrate our Advent Communion at 10.50 am. Teas will be served in the Small Hall following the service.

Tuesday 10th December

The Christmas @ Forthbank Carol Singalong Service takes place on Tuesday 10th December. Come and help with the singing at this popular event. We will meet in the reception area at 2pm.

Advanced Notice

Everyone at St Mark’s is invited to a Christmas party hosted by Barry and Gillian on Sunday 15th December after church – 1pm until 3. All ages welcome – there will be food, games and maybe even a Christmas visitor…..
